SINGER - SONGWRITER - PRODUCER - MISCHIEF MAKER
ROCK - POP - JAZZ - BLUES

Described by the Australian press as the "It Girl" of the Sydney Jazz Scene, Sally Street has been wowing audiences with her riotous performances taking them on a trip to naughty land both both internationally and around Australia.

2009 gave birth to Sally's latest addiction: Songwriting. Catchy rock/pop songs with wicked lyrics.  Sally's highly anticipated new rock/pop album is due for release early 2010 and with it came her new witty, scandalous and irresistibly wicked rock show!

Sally has returned with rave reviews from the Tangier Jazz Festival in Morocco, enchanted audiences at the Venetian and Sands Casinos in Macau China, mesmerised crowds at the Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club in Queensland Australia and on the festival circuit around Australia (Newcastle Jazz Festival, Kings Cross Festival), as well as singing up a storm on the club scene around her home town, Sydney.

"The delightful Australian Sally Street, was a hit at Castel Palace." reported Et-Tayeb Houdaifa in La Vie éco as part of his June 2009 review of the Tanjazz Festival in Tangier, Morocco.

Sally has released two albums to date which she co-produced with Steve Clisby: "Little Evil Me" (Newmarket Music Label) and "One Bite At The Cherry" - both of which continue to receive extensive airplay across Australian jazz stations.  In January 2009, Peter Wockner described "One Bite At The Cherry" in ABC Limelight Magazine as "Saucy cabaret songs from the breathy Sydney chanteuse with a band Marilyn Monroe would have died for".

Sally has studied singing under some of Sydney’s jazz legends including Kerrie Biddell, Joy Yates and Steve Clisby. Sally started out mastering classical piano from age 4 which she went on to teach for many years, having reached AMEB Grade 8 level. Sally has been on the stage all her life growing up in a house where her father was a jazz bassist. Sally was a member of the Australian Girls Choir for many years and studied Opera singing with Joanne Callinan and Ellie Raab before she turned to jazz in her late teens. Sally also studied drama, classical ballet, tap and character dancing for over a decade in her youth and appeared on various childrens’ television programs.

Sally also pranced around her bedroom for at least 10 years with oranges stuck down her top pretending to be Olivia Newton John from Grease and on other days Ella Fitzgerald (which probably explains why to this day Sally can't decide whether she likes pop or jazz music the most).

Formerly a lawyer, Sally was a Senior Associate in the mergers and acquisitions team at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (the leading law firm in the Asia Pacific), until Dec 2005 when she hung up her briefcase (but kept her stilettos on) to follow passion for music full time - and hasn't looked back......aint life grand, you just never know where you're 'gonna end up when you're slightly mad'!!

Sally has had the great privilege of performing with the following immensely talented souls: Bill Risby, Tim Fisher, Gerard Masters, Matt Macmahon, Tom O'Halloran, Matt Baker, John Harkins, Col Nolan, Michael Bartolomei, Marc Hannaford, Barney Wakeford, Will Poskitt (RIP Will - a huge loss to Australian jazz), Monique Lisiak, Wayne Kelly (China), Ian Cooper, James Muller, Guy Le Claire, John Pease, James Sherlock, Evan Manell, Hamish Stuart, Andrew Dickeson, Anthony Howe, Cameron Reid, Joe Marchisella, Nick McBride (China), Adrian Cunningham, Mark Taylor, Blaine Whittaker, Craig Walters, Andrew Robertson, Paul Gibens, Chris Cuzme (NYC), Natalie Morrison, Cameron Undy, Sam Anning, Brett Hirst, Dave Pudney, Kevin Hailey, Alex Hewetson, Brett Hirst, Ashley Turner, Gary Holgate, Mike Storey, Owen Newcombe, Nielsen Gough, Greg Coffin, Ed Gaston, Ken James, Darcy Wright, Warwick Alder, Helen Fenton, Paul Griffith, Susan Gai Dowling, Lisa Michell, Jeff Duff.
